Download Google Picasa Offline / Standalone Installer
I thought Google Pack always contained latest softwares and that for downloading Picasa only way is to download it using Google Pack, and so I did. But when it was installed I was astonished to see that the downloaded software was Picasa 2.7. But I had heard that Picasa 3 was out?
Anyways, in case you need to download Google Picasa 2.7 you can always use Google pack to download it.
Did I mention that Google Picasa 3 is also available? Yes it is available and for reason unknown to me it is not included in the pack, so in case you need to download the offline / standalone installer direct link to the installer is given below.

Now I am going to be busy managing the 10000+ pictures that I have shot in the previous 6 years.

I might have to give Picasa a try, because they have a 3.0 linux version as well.
I have typically stayed away from most Google software, not because of quality , but just because I did not really want to provide them with anymore user data than they are already getting. Still though, I have heard some good things about Picasa…

I stay away from Google software because they force their installer and updater on you and try to phone home.
And last time I tried picasa it wasn’t exactly portable – what do you do with your picture collection when you reinstal – do you have to go fishing for the album in %appdate% ?

I like Picasa,
not for myself, ’cause i have few pictures, but my parents (specially my father) has a huge collection.
I like the new features like face recognition and maps, so I’ll download it.
