  4. All information above should be sufficient for your mobile too with exception that the settings menu items will vary. You will need to take help from BPL Customer Care (may be you already tried and they are unable to support because of non-standard handset) or try yourself. Start with GPRS activation for your no by asking the Customer care and continue yourself.

  5. Jalaj,
Thanks for that info. the problem with those settings is that it cant access websites directly, actually the problem with Vodafone GPRS.

  6. Yes, Vodafone doesnot facilitate free access (based on usage) from PC as BPL Mobile does.

I had been using Hutch/Vofafone for over 2.5 years but did not wanted to subscribe without ensuring it really works. With BPL Mobile I got a chance to evaluate GPRS for a few days and now I have subscribed it for unlimited usage (Hutch have 500MB limit, too low for me).

  10. @Avinash
You will have to contact Idea’s Customer care. I have used only two operators ‘Vodafone/Hutch’ and ‘BPL’ and have no ‘Idea’ about others.

  12. @Avinash -
This post started after getting stuck in the position you are in. After getting all the automatic settings, I was unable to connect using PC and using mobile application for gmail with same message “Subscribe to packet data first”…

You will have to get the help from the Technical team there who will take you through the setting process particular to your handset. The post content is the summary of what the technical team took me to. “Bearer settings” is the most important of all.
