Domain Name Change Side-effect - It’s Happening

with one comment

I moved to jalaj.net on 24th May and am eagerly waiting to see how the blog makes transition in terms of Google PageRank. And the results are visible now in terms of side-effects and the visitors to the blog maximum of whom reached here through Google and other search engines have dropped beyond imagination. The keywords where blog made to top-10 results don’t show anymore near the top.

A visit to the Google Webmaster Tools reveals that all the external & internal links that the old address gathered all these months have dropped to Zero and those that appeared at the new address are much less in comparison.

Age of all the internal links are less than the period since when the new domain name appeared. Thus internal links are building afresh and their low number and age is surely going to affect the site position in near future. With the Google PageRank upload due somewhere in last week of July it’s more than a month of uncertainness.

About half of the external links are in fact the pages from the old address and are sure to get removed soon.

Hope the July end will not bring disappointment for me.
