Custom CSS Design

with 4 comments

Today I could no longer suppress my temptation for going for the Custom CSS upgrade… and now my blog features a pre-mature release of the new design. There are a lot of modifications still to be done, but that I will take later.

Why I needed CSS upgrade?. Mostly because a large number of posts featured Codes for which I used the <pre> tag. From the whole lot of different themes available at wordpress.com, only Rubric could cater to my needs and I was happy with that till I came to know that at lower resolutions as 800×600 the Codes in my posts led to unexpected results. To add to it, I now wanted to have a theme which shows the tags and other details related to post below the post. Andreas09 came to rescue but it had display issues even in high resolutions as 1280×1024, so could no longer wait….

The current design of my blog (yes… current!) is based on ‘Dusplic’ template available at freecsstemplates.org.

My hosting the images on wordpress may be a bad idea, as the urls of the images and pages on wordpress.com undergo mod.rewrite and then calling the dynamic page that serves them. So that should impact the download speed and would be surprising if it doesn’t. I plan to host the images on some alternate source later.
