The Windows Registry
One of my favourite activities has been tweaking the system configuration files. the INI files in Win3.1 and the Registry in Win95 onwards. What are these? A Magic Wand?? you change a registry entry, and whoop! the windows or an application changes its way of working… No!! It’s only a place where windows and other applications record some critical and some informational configuration settings, which they again refer to when they execute. One of the registry tweaking tool claimed that a registry setting which stops Registry Tools from executing, fails to stop the said tool. It was just that the tool itself should have referred to that entry before executing and acted accordingly.
